Quick poll: What are you actually looking for on InterPals?
After reflecting on how InterPals has changed over the years, I thought it might be useful to do a small, informal poll in the comments.
If you feel like it, reply to this post with what you are really looking for on InterPals. For example:
• Language exchange
• Cultural exchange
• Friendship
• A Partner
• Casual chat
• Travel connections
• Money/scam 😂
• Something else?
I think it could be interesting to see whether most of us are still here for the original purpose of the app, or if expectations have shifted over time.
Looking forward to reading your answers.

I’ve been using InterPals for over 10 years, and I feel comfortable saying that the app has changed a lot.
In the past, it was easier to find genuine people interested in language exchange, culture, and real conversations. Lately, however, I’ve noticed a significant increase in fake profiles, people eventually asking for money, and a general atmosphere of distrust that simply didn’t exist before.
I’ve also observed a shift in where many new profiles come from, which makes the experience feel very different compared to years ago. This is not about judging countries or individuals, there are good and honest people everywhere, but the original spirit of InterPals feels harder to find.
I’m curious to know if other long-time users feel the same way.
How do you filter profiles or protect your time while still trying to connect with genuine people?
